Music trivia

A daily music trivia game, played on a map

Most music quizzes ask you to name a song. GeoMusic asks where: where an artist was born, where a band got together, where a classic album was recorded, where a genre was born and where a legendary show took place. You get five clues a day and drop a pin on the globe for each one. The closer you land, the more you score.

Example questions

These clues have already appeared in past rounds:

  • "The Beatles played nearly 300 times at this cellar club." Answer: The Cavern Club, Liverpool. A venue question: you score by how close your pin lands to the club itself.
  • "Berry Gordy ran his label out of a house he nicknamed "Hitsville U.S.A." in this city." Answer: Detroit (Motown). A label question: the place where a sound was built, not just where a star was born.
  • "Jimi Hendrix was born in 1942 in this city." Answer: Seattle. A birthplace question: the classic warm-up clue that opens many rounds.

How a round works

  1. Read the clue. There is no timer.
  2. Spin and zoom the globe, then tap where you think it happened.
  3. See how far off you were, the real answer and a short fact about the place.
  4. After five clues, share your score. The last three count double and triple, so a perfect day is 1,000.

Why a map makes a better music quiz

Knowing that a band came from "somewhere in the north of England" still earns points, so the game rewards everything you half-remember from liner notes, documentaries and tour dates. And every answer comes with a story, so you learn something about the music you love each day.

FAQ

Is GeoMusic a music quiz with audio clips?

No. GeoMusic is a geography-based music trivia game: instead of naming a song, you place music history on a map. That makes it quick to play anywhere, with the sound off.

How hard are the questions?

Each round mixes easy, medium and hard clues. The first two are usually famous stories, and the last three, worth double and triple points, dig deeper. Close guesses still score, so you never need the exact answer.

Which music genres are covered?

Rock, pop, hip-hop, soul, R&B, jazz, blues, country, folk, metal, electronic, classical, Latin, reggae, K-pop, Afrobeat and more, from every continent.

Is it free?

Yes. The daily round is free and needs no account. GeoMusic Pro adds past rounds, rounds by genre, endless Shuffle Mode and full stats.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Everyone gets the same five questions each day, and free friend groups give you a private leaderboard.
